Principal Blog

Dear Parents,

As a school and parish community, we have so much to be thankful for. God has blessed us with a successful parish dinner, many facilities improvements, involved parents and grandparents, dedicated teachers, and wonderful students. As we approach Thanksgiving, we thank God for our many blessings.

Thank you parents and students for donating to the St. Vincent de Paul canned food drive. The students are enjoying the Ducks vs. Beavers food contest. Both teams’ tables seem to be fairly equally loaded with food. The school will continue to collect food items through next week up to Wednesday, November 24th. All donated food will go to help many families in need in our local area. May the best team win!

Last week all the students participated in a family group activity on manners. The students were asked to brainstorm appropriate behaviors and manners for in church, in the lunchroom, on the playground, in the bathroom, on fieldtrips, and at assemblies. Knowing appropriate manners for each of these areas will help students to follow the Schoolwide Learning Expectations of I understand and apply the rules of the classroom and school community and I know and value the teachings of Jesus. Please encourage your child in the appropriate use of manners as we build a stronger Christ-like community and work towards having a great school year. The students’ lists were so long that over the next few weeks we will share some of their main highlights. Following are key manners listed for in church.

May God bless you!
