I will be on a retreat this week, Thursday and Friday, with other principals from our Archdiocese (if it doesn’t snow, and the weather cooperates!). Please pray for our Catholic school principals that this retreat will help all to grow in their faith and service of God.
This week, we have begun the preparation and sorting for our Rummage Sale which will take place March 3rd through 5th. While four VIP hours are required for the Rummage Sale, we ask all to be as generous as possible with their time. The sale and sorting time has been reduced to just two weeks this year which is very doable with everyone’s help. The complete schedule of sorting and sale times can be found in the school office so that everyone can find a time that works best for volunteering. I thank all parents, students, and parishioners that have already helped with the move-in and sorting and also our Rummage Sale chairs for organizing this event. The many helpers made the move-in both smooth and quick. The Rummage Sale is worthwhile not only because it supports Visitation Catholic School (last year with $17,000), but also because it supports the surrounding community. The school office receives several calls daily asking the date and time of our Rummage Sale.
Here are a few reminders for this week. Visitation Catholic School follows the decision of the Forest Grove School District for weather related closures. All Read-a-thon minutes and pledge monies should be collected and turned in by Friday of this week. Thank you to the many families that have already turned in the Letter of Intent for next year! If you still need to do so, we ask that this form be turned in by Friday so that good budget decisions can be made for next year.
