Principal Blog

Dear Parents,

Thank you to the many parents, parishioners, students and the chairs who helped organize the Rummage Sale! The sorting was done fairly quickly this year with the many helpers and organization. If you still need to complete your family’s four required VIP hours, please contact one of the Rummage Sale chairs. Many helpers are still needed on the days of the sale and with cleanup on the days after the sale. Also please help to advertise the sale by spreading the word to others. We look forward to another great Rummage Sale!

The deadline for filling out the F.A.C.T.S. financial aid form is coming soon. The results from this application are used by Visitation Catholic School to determine the financial aid allocation for the 2011-2012 school year.  Completion of this   application process is necessary for aid to be given to a family, and I encourage all families to apply. The deadline for the paper application is March 18th and the on-line application is March 31st.

The Student Council has chosen to have a Penny War for P.E. equipment. This is a friendly war between the grades in which pennies put into your can count for your grade, and silver and dollars put into your can count against you. The Penny War will last from February 28th to March 14th. The grade with the highest average of pennies minus silver per student will win. The Student Council will use the money collected to buy additional P.E. and sports equipment for the school. Let the competition begin!

On March 10th, all are invited to attend the Visitation School Science Fair. Each grade, kindergarten through eighth, has either group or individual student projects for parents and guests to enjoy. The 5th through 8th grade student experiments are judged earlier in the day and the results can be viewed at the science fair. The science fair is open for guests from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

Next Wednesday, March 9th, is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. We will be having an all school Mass at 8:30 A.M. that morning. I hope you can join us at Mass as this is a perfect way to begin the season of Lent.

May God bless you!
