Welcome back! I hope you and your students had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break. We have many special events coming up during this final trimester of the school year. At the same time, we remind our students to continue to stay focused even with spring arriving all around us.
On Monday, the students enjoyed a presentation through the Talk About Trees program. The goal of this program is to help students to learn about the different types of trees in Oregon, the parts of a tree, the different uses of a tree, and how we can effectively manage our forests. The program facilitator brought many tree samples and products for the students to view and handle. Next week Monday, the students will experience part two of the Talk About Tree program with a tree walk to identify and learn from the trees on our school campus.
On Saturday, April 2nd, the DC kids will be hosting the 2nd Annual Big Band Dance featuring the Lake Oswego Millennium Dance Band from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. This promises to be a fun night out for the parents with great music, and also childcare is provided. I hope many of you can attend this worthwhile and FUN fundraiser. The proceeds go to benefit the Washington DC Kids and Visitation School Tuition Assistance Fund.
The school auction is quickly approaching. Please remember to keep looking for items to donate to the auction and to turn them in over the next few weeks in the school/convent office. Our goal for this year would be to make more than the $52,000 earned at our last year auction, which we can accomplish with more donations.
I wish you a blessed week!
