Principal Blog

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to all the second trimester award winners! Our fifth through eighth grade Honor Roll students this trimester were Naomi Duyck, Molly   VanDyke, Duncan Stewart, and Christian Tunnell. The High Honor students were Eldon Long, Zack Pelster, Taylor Rosholt, Tanner Vandecoevering, Alex Funk, Kim Heesacker, Taylor LaBonte, and Emily Peters. We honor these       and the many students from all grades for academic achievement, service, citizenship, and other accomplishments during the second trimester.

The Finance Committee and the School Advisory Committee have completed and approved the 2011-2012 budget for Visitation Catholic School. Some of the key priorities were to adequately fund quality programs, to keep tuition as low as possible recognizing the difficult economy we still face, and to maintain a balanced budget. To meet these priorities, the decision was made to raise tuition two percent for the next academic year which equates to about eight dollars more per month for the first child’s tuition. The decision was also made to switch back to using a tuition management program to help with tuition collections. For the next school year, the FACTS Tuition Management Program will be used. Families that have paid their tuition in full by August 1st will not need to enroll in this program. The tuition management program will help Visitation to maintain a more stable budget.

April 25th is a no school conference day. Teachers will be available for parent conferences from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Conferences on this day are optional. If you would like to schedule a meeting with your child’s teacher on this day, please prearrange the conference by calling the school office or your child’s teacher.

The auction, one of Visitation’s most important fundraisers is quickly approaching. Please remember to turn in your auction donations as soon as possible. Also we are in the process of seeking sponsors for the school Jog-a-thon. The goal is for every child to send out at least five pledge sheets with the challenge of sending out ten. As an incentive, I have promised the students a candy bar for every five sheets they have filled out. If the pledge sheets are returned to school by April 15th, the school will then mail them for you. If you have emailed pledge sheets or sent them out on your own, please write me a note saying how many were sent so that your child can still earn his or her candy bars.

This Thursday, April 14th, everyone is invited to come and enjoy Visitation’s Dance Team which will  perform at 5:30 P.M. in the gym and the Visitations School Choir which will then perform at 7:00 P.M. in the gym. We hope you  can join us! Also on Holy Thursday, April 21st, we invite everyone to come remember Jesus during our school Passion Play at 2:30 P.M. in the gym.

I wish you a blessed week!
