Dear Parents, During the month of May we honor Mary in many special ways. Next Tuesday, May 31st, we will be having an all school crowning of Mary and rosary at 2:30 P.M. All the students are encouraged to bring flowers and a rosary on Tuesday, and parents are welcome to join us. May 31st is also the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This day is called the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary because on it Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth, whom, as the angel had told her, God had blessed with a son in her old age. We can feel the rush of warmth and kindness, the sudden urgency of love that sent Mary hurrying over the hills to help Elizabeth. When Mary greeted her cousin Elizabeth, John leapt for joy in his mother’s womb. This feast reminds us to be charitable to our neighbors. Last Tuesday, Father Scott invited our new pastor Father Michael Vuky to visit and meet the staff and students. The students enjoyed talking with Father Michael and asking him questions. Father Michael grew up in the Beaverton area and was ordained to the priesthood six years ago. We welcome him to Visitation Catholic Parish and School. We are continuing with our registration process for the 2011/2012 school year. At the end of this week, information about tuition assistance grants will be sent out.
