Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Thank you to Dean Petshow Construction, LLC for the load of gravel in front of the school. We appreciate this gift of gravel, truck time and fuel very much! It has so improved the parking area.

This week we continue our Lenten service project of raising money for Heifer International. Friday is the last day that we will be collecting money for this project. The students are very excited about purchasing an animal for a family in need. Many grades are well on their way to collecting the needed funds to reach their goal. Thank you for helping us to support this very worthwhile cause.

The Science Fair was a success once again this year! Thank you to the many parents who came to celebrate the learning of our children. Also thank you to our parent judges who gave their time to judge the 5th through 8th grade experiments. We appreciate their time and comments that will help the students to grow in their scientific knowledge and experimental design.

Congratulations to all our science fair participants! I saw many interesting science fair experiments.

This week, we have begun the preparation and sorting for our Rummage Sale which will take place March 8th through 10th. While four VIP hours are required for the Rummage Sale, we ask all to be as generous as possible with their time. The sale and sorting time is reduced to just two weeks this year which is very doable with everyone’s help. The complete schedule of sorting and sale times can be found in this bulletin so that everyone can find a time that works best for volunteering. I thank all parents, students, and parishioners that have already helped with the move-in and sorting and our Rummage Sale chairs for organizing this event. The many helpers made the move-in both smooth and quick. The Rummage Sale is worthwhile not only because it supports Visitation Catholic School (last year with $11,400), but also because it supports the surrounding community. The school office receives several calls daily asking the date and time of our Rummage Sale.

May God bless you!

Carol Funk, Principal
