Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents,

This week we congratulate our Spelling Bee finalists! In Division I, Riley was the finalist and Collette the runner-up. In Division II, Molly was the finalist and Alex the runner-up. Riley and Molly will be competing at the county level. Great job on being super spellers!

On Saturday, April 21st, the Visitation Student Council will be hosting “A Dance Thru Time” from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm in the gym. This promises to be a fun night out for students and parents with great music, a costume contest, and a dance-a-thon. I hope many of you can attend this worthwhile and fun fundraiser. The proceeds go to help Diana Conlon and her family with medical expenses.

Thank you for the auction donations turned in this week. We appreciate your  efforts. The auction committee asks that everyone please continue to look for and ask businesses for donations over the next few weeks so that we can meet our amount from last year. All donations should be turned in to the basement of the convent. Also this week, the Auction Sign-Up Volunteer Sheet should be turned into the school office by April 20th.

Next week we begin Spirit Week which leads up to the Jog-A-Thon on Friday, April 27th. Each day, Monday, April 23rd, through Friday, April 27th, the Student Council has planned special dress activities. Please check the newsletter for each day’s activities. Students can continue to send out pledge sheets and get sponsors during this week. Does your child have at least one sponsor so he or she is ready to jog?

Are you interested in serving Visitation Catholic School in a leadership and advisory role? Each year, Visitation’s School Advisory Committee (SAC) has two positions that open for a three year term. All parents and parishioners are invited to apply. If you have ideas for Visitation School you would like to share and are able to assist Father Michael and myself in this leadership role, I encourage you to submit your name to the school office. Thank you for your commitment to Visitation Catholic School.

As a special reminder, the Visitation Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair continues this week through Friday. I hope you have a joyful week!

Carol Funk, Principal
