Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Thank you for supporting the Visitation Student Council,” A Dance Thru Time “last Saturday. The students had a fun time with the costume contest and dancing. The Student Council was able to raise over $1000 to help the Conlon family with medical expenses. Thank you for helping to make this event so successful!

Friday afternoon, April 27th, is the school Jog-A-Thon. We have had a great Spirit Week with many fun activities organized by the Student Council. On Friday, the students should come to school in their school uniform for Mass. After Mass, the students will be able to wear their hats for Hat Day, and later in the day the teachers will give them an opportunity to change into their Jog-A-Thon clothes and class color. For the Jog-A-Thon, please remind your child to dress for the weather as we jog rain or shine, and also students warm up quickly when they are jogging or walking. Everyone is invited to come support your child and the joggers in the field behind the Parish Center from 1:45 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. We hope to see you there!

Auction preparations continue in full swing this week. We thank everyone for the wonderful donations that have been given! However, many more donations are still needed to complete the tables so we ask everyone to continue to procure donations of any size. All donations should be turned into the basement of the convent. Also thank you for remembering to turn in your Volunteer Sign-Up sheet. Your help is much appreciated.

With this week’s newsletter is an envelope containing beginning registration forms for the 2012/2013 school year. Also included is a letter detailing the main highlights of this year’s registration. Please return the registration form as soon as possible so that the school can make accurate plans for the next year.

During the month of May we honor Mary in many special ways. Next Tuesday, May 1st, we will be having an all school crowning of Mary and rosary at 2:30 P.M. All the students are encouraged to bring flowers and a rosary on Tuesday, and parents are welcome to join us. We will be having this special prayer service at the shrine next to church if the weather permits or in church if the weather is wet.

Thank you for your support of Visitation Catholic School.

May God bless you!

 Carol Funk, Principal
