We have many exciting events happening at Visitation Catholic School this week! The auction is in its final stages of preparation, and everything is organized and going well. We thank Missy Klopcic for chairing the auction and all the individual committee leaders for organizing their area. We also thank everyone for your donations which help our auction to be successful. Donations can still be turned in this week, and there are a few dinner tickets available for purchase. We look forward to an exciting night!
Two candidates, Gilbert Luna and Amy Carlson, have submitted their names for the two School Advisory Committee (SAC) positions that are open. These positions are three year terms. As only two candidates have submitted their names, a vote will not be needed this year. Father Michael has accepted their nominations, and we are very excited to have Gilbert and Amy join the SAC committee at the end of May. As they end their term, I thank Jennifer Finegan and Chris Hunter for their service to the Visitation SAC Committee and for the many ideas they have shared.
This Saturday, May 5th, the Visitation Student Council is presenting a Movie Marathon from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. in the gym. Students, parents, and guests are welcome to join the student council for all or for part of the three movies: The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America. Parents should be aware that all of the movies are rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence. Please see the attached flyer for more information. All donations will be used towards purchasing a large movie screen for the gym.
The Jog-A-Thon on Friday was very successful. The students ran many laps in the hour long run and enjoyed popsicles at the end. Over $3,000 in one time pledges have already been received, and now the next step is for the per lap pledges to be collected. These pledge sheets will be mailed to the donors.
Please keep our second graders in your prayers this week as they prepare for their First Holy Communion.
