Our school was able to collect 322 pounds of food and $160 for Oregon Food Bank. Altogether Project Second Wind collected 67,830 pound of food and $35,163.81 to end hunger in Oregon.
This week the students will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart. This is another opportunity for students to obtain sponsors and earn money for research to end heart diseases.
Thank you to Mr. Elison and the kindergarten through eighth graders for the wonderful play, “A Tale of Two Curses,” last week. The play was very creative and enjoyable. The hard work of the students and Mr. Elison was very evident. Thank you to Val Evers for her help with the sets and costumes. They were very beautiful. Also thank you to Javier Dominguez and Gilbert Luna for their help with the microphones and sound system. We appreciate your hard work and dedication.
Thursday, May 31st, at 2:45 pm, we will be having our Jog-A-Thon awards assembly. Prizes are being given for the top ten money earners, top boy and girl laps in each class, and for those who received a sponsor. Thank you for your help and support of the Jog-A-Thon. The Parents’ Club was able to exceed its goal of $6000!
Please continue to remember the eighth graders in your prayers this week as they participate in their retreat activities. We pray that this will be a faith filled time of reflection and growth for them.
I wish you a safe and blessed Memorial Day weekend.
