Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to a new year at Visitation Catholic School! We are very excited to begin a new year, and we welcome our new families to Visitation. We are very grateful to have all of our teachers returning to Visitation for the 2012-2013 school year. We have many exciting events to look forward to this year, and I encourage all parents to be active participants in your child’s education and to volunteer for classroom activities.

I invite parents to come the Visitation Back-to-School Night Wednesday, September 12th from 6:30 pm -7:45 pm. I encourage all parents to take this opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, learn about special activities for the year, hear about the curriculum, grading, and homework policies, and learn about ways to be involved in your child’s education. We will begin the evening in the gym and then rotate through three repeated sessions in each classroom. This will allow  parents with more than one child to meet with teachers in each room. We hope you can join us!

Congratulations to Thomas Finegan! Thomas is one of 13 finalists to have his artwork featured in the 2012-2013 School-Year Calendar  produced by Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation. Last spring the fourth grade class submitted artwork to the contest, and Thomas’s painting of a combine harvesting wheat won a position in the agricultural calendar.

Thank you to parents and parishioners who have helped with our  summertime facility projects. We appreciate those who organized and helped carry out the facility improvements, the event planners, the builders, the painters, and so many more.

This is going to be a wonderful year! I am excited for our children to begin a year filled with faith, academic excellence, and service.

Welcome back!

Carol Funk, Principal
