Thank you for another successful parish dinner! The Sausage and Sauerkraut dinner was enjoyed by many guests because of the efforts of the students, parents, parishioners, and community members. We especially thank our dinner chair, Larry Verboort, and co-chair, Kathy Hammond, for a well organized event. Another thank you is given to Mr. Elison and the Visitation School Choir for entertaining our guests with their special performance. We thank God for blessing us with a mostly dry day and many guests.
The Visitation Student Council is sponsoring two fundraising events to raise the last $800 needed for a large movie screen for the gym. All of the grades are having a fun time participating in a “Penny War”. Students have until Friday, November 9th, at the Movie Night to put pennies in their own grade’s can, which count for them, and to put silver and dollars in the other grades’ cans which count against them. Friday starting at 6:00 pm in the gym will be Christmas specials, and at 7:00 pm the student council will be showing the movie “Arthur Christmas”. All families are invited to participate in the fun activities sponsored by student council.
Knights Club has been very busy this year and well used which is wonderful. On many days, the Knights Club After School Care has reached its maximum capacity of 28 students, and we have had to apply the exception rule which allows for 30 students under certain conditions. Knights Club provides an invaluable service for working parents and those who have appointments and therefore can’t pick up their children at the end of the school day. In the spirit of the program and to ensure this service is available to those in need, we ask that Knights Club not be used only as an activity or tutoring time for families. The Knights Club staff and I appreciate your helping us to make this program available to those in need while staying within the capacity limits.
Thank you for your help!
