As a school and parish community, we have so much to be thankful for. God has blessed us with a successful parish dinner, many facilities improvements, involved parents and grandparents, dedicated teachers, and wonderful students. As we approach Thanksgiving, we thank God for our many blessings.
Thank you parents and students for donating to the St. Vincent de Paul canned food drive. The students are enjoying the Ducks vs. Beavers canned food contest. This year we also have a Platypus table for those who like both teams! The Ducks were the first to score and get food on their table. However, at this point all the teams’ tables seem to be fairly equal in the amount of food donated, and there is room for many more cans. All donations can be brought to the tables on the gym stage. The school will continue to collect food items through next week Wednesday. All donated food will go to help many families in need in our local area. May the best team win!
Visitation Catholic School will be having a float in the Forest Grove Light Parade again this year. The parade takes place on December 1st at 5:00 P.M. We invite all families to come and support our school by being a part of the float. We need many students to ride on the float and adults to walk alongside and pass out pencils and candy. Kids and parents who can join us for this fun event should meet at the staging area between 4:00 P.M. and 4:30 P.M. More information on the staging area location will be coming out in next week’s newsletter. Also remember to wear red, put on your Santa hats, dress for the weather, and bring your school spirit!
Next week Wednesday, we will be celebrating our all-school Thanksgiving Mass at 8:30 A.M. We invite parents to join us for Mass as we give thanks to God for the many blessings he has given us.
With thanksgiving for all you do,
Carol Funk, Principal
