Welcome back to a New Year! Thank you for the many Christmas cards and gifts. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas holiday. We are ready to start this New Year with many important events for our students and for Visitation Catholic School.
You are invited to come to the Parish Breakfast hosted by our 7th and 8th Grade on Sunday, Jan. 13th from 8:30 A.M. to noon in the Visitation Parish Center. The breakfast proceeds help to fund the 8th grade retreat and the 7/8th grade OMSI submarine fieldtrip. The menu includes: French Toast, Verboort Sausage/Ham, applesauce, and assorted beverages. It promises to be a great breakfast for a very worthwhile purpose. We hope you can make it!
Visitation Catholic School’s 7th Annual Appeal is off to a good start. We are hoping to raise $15,000 to finance school operations and to aid families with needed tuition assistance. The annual appeal helps Visitation to continue its tradition of offering a strong academic foundation for all students. Currently, $9,370 has been raised toward the annual appeal goal. Thank you for your continued support!
As we begin this New Year, we look back on the past year, our successes and challenges, and make resolutions to improve in the New Year. It is very inspiring to see students committed to doing better in the classroom. Some students have decided to better their study habits, to work harder, to take more responsibility, and to grow in their faith. As parents and as a community, we need to encourage this opportunity in our students and allow them to grow in faith and knowledge. Jesus himself set this standard of behavior when he saw the best in Simon Peter. Peter who denied Jesus would one day become the rock foundation of the Church. In this New Year, let us continue to expect the most from our students and look for the best in all students. With fortitude and grace, our students will become models of Christ in this Year of Faith.
Happy New Year!
