Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents,

I will be on a retreat this week, Thursday and Friday, with other principals from our Archdiocese. Please pray for our Catholic school principals that this retreat will help all to grow in their faith and service of God.

We have just two days left to fill the food barrels for Project Second Wind! Food items or cash donations can be brought to your child’s classroom any time this week.Visitation’s school goal is 300 pounds of food and $100. For each dollar donated the Oregon Food Bank is able to distribute 4 lbs. of food. Thank you for supporting this service project and for helping to end hunger.

The Science Fair was a success once again this year! Thank you to the many parents who came to celebrate the learning of our children. Also thank you to our judges who gave their time to judge the 5th through 8th grade experiments. Parent volunteers came to interview the students and to judge their projects. We appreciate their time and comments that will help the students to grow in their scientific knowledge and experimental design. Following are the science fair results:

5th grade 6th Grade 7/8th Grade

Congratulations to all our science fair participants! I saw many interesting science fair experiments.

The Finance Committee has been working on the budget for the 2013-2014 school year. Included in the Wednesday envelope is the Tuition Schedule for next year.
We are happy to be able to keep next year’s tuition the same as this year with no increase. The registration fee will also remain the same. The registration fee is used to cover textbook costs, art supplies, and educational materials all of which must be ordered in June.

Thank you to the parents, parishioners, students and the chairs who helped organize the Rummage Sale! If you still need to complete your family’s four required VIP hours, please contact one of the Rummage Sale chairs. Please remember that these required hours are billed if not completed. Many helpers are still needed on the days of the sale especially Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Also please help to advertise the sale by spreading the word to others. We look forward to another great Rummage Sale!
