Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents,

We wish to congratulate 8th grader Tsacha Hyneman! Tsacha has passed the school and the local level of the National Geographic Geography Bee. In April, she will be competing at the state level and will have a chance to qualify for the national competition. We wish her the best!

The Installation Mass of Archbishop Alexander K. Sample will take place at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center. This will be about a two hour Mass. All parents are welcome to participate in this special Mass with your child. The Superintendent of Catholic Schools has asked that all students who would like to attend this event with their parents be excused from school for the afternoon. Tickets are not required to attend and for more information, please visit the Archdiocesan website at www.archdpdx.org.

Congratulations to the St. Francis/Visitation CYO basketball teams! The boys and girls teams have been competing in tournaments the last few weeks and have been very successful. In the City Tournament the 4/5th grade girls were 4th place, the 6th grade boys 1st place, the 7th grade boys 3rd place. We can support our CYO sports teams by attending the CYO Fish Fry Dinner fundraiser this Friday, March 15th, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Visitation parish center.

The end of the second trimester has come. Report cards will be sent home with students next week Thursday, March 21st. The end of trimester awards ceremony will be after Spring Break with the date yet to be determined. We hope you can join us in celebrating the learning of our students!

On Thursday, March 21st at 2:40 P.M., the seventh and eighth grade with the help of the whole school will be having a Passion Play in the gym. All families and guests are invited to come participate in this special remembrance.

I wish you a blessed week!

Carol Funk, Principal
